well, maybe,

I was an outlet mall this weekend which means I spent most of the time in the 
bookstores while the women shopped for clothes.

But I got a book called ' Penguin Dictionary of Electronics' for under six 
bucks.

it is edited by Valerie Illingworth, ISBN 0-14-051402-3.

it's got lots of formulas, diagrams and good explanations.  they even have 
midi in there, very audio friendly it seems.  although I can't seem to find 
Exponential converter in there(I have a few other books that do have it, this 
might make the language in them a bit more understandible.)

hey, I didn't know you could make a discrete BBD!

it's list price is $16.95 US.
