Well.....we all started where you are...I started electronics as a
hobby in 1965, at age 13, and I am still learning stuff. I started back
then by going to the library. I think I checked out every single book
at both the public library and the school library (both Jr and Senior
High).
But, books are only the begining, you actually have to do it. I
remember that a lot of the projects I did early on just didn't work.
That goes with the teritory. It takes a long time to build up the
skills.
I am not really sure what a good first book would be, 'The Art of
Electronics' comes to mind, although, I am not too sure how good this is
for a rank beginner. But, whatever you find in the library is at least
no cost, so take a look.
