[sdiy] arcrylic panels

Hi, all. I have come accross some arcrylic paneling laying in the garage.
It has a protective plastic coating on it and it has some information about
use. The sheet claims that it is flammable. Also, that it expands and
contracts with heat. Does anyone have any experience using this substance
for DIY synth panels? I think I would rather drill this stuff than metal.
I could even use my hand crank drill on it. It seems very durable, plus it
would be really cool to get to see the synth's guts. Will this stuff burn
or melt under the heat of synth circuits? It freaks me out a little because
it could ruin my whole project if it melted or burned.
