I built a voltage-controlled for an abstract light sculpture using
optoisolators and triacs. Ridiculously simple once you figure it out.

Since there was no audio involved I don't know how much EMI the thing gave
off but I'm sure it was there. Actually, the microcontroller running the
whole thing gave off a lot of RFI by itself.
