Solid state relays are instantaneous... to the nearest 8.33mS... the
time to the
next zero cross.  It is best if you choose a design that fires a full
sine wave each time... equal number of positive and negative half
cycles. This keeps the signal from
radiating well from the inductance of the wiring.  AC interference can
be VERY
bad in a stage environment.

BTW... use multiple small bulbs instead of one big one, for much faster
response.
