Hi,
sorry that I'm breaking in late with this thread ......
there are connections between the Vox company and Thomas Organs .....
misc things to note.
there are several versions of the Vox Continental , early ones use
transistor dividers, later ones use IC dividers .
there are also changes in the design of the 12 master oscilators [ I
think the early ones use germanium transistors and " may " drift more
than the later ones that use silicon ].
Because you have 12 different oscilators it does sound different to
using a TOG ic as there are some compromises in the frequencies produced
by a top octave generator ic ......
but you can't easily tune the Organ up or down in pitch with 12
oscilators.
I think the Jaguar uses similar dividing tecnology but has a simplified
voicing arrangement .[ I can confirm this if anyone needs to know ].
If there is one Organ that I would like to get my hands on its a Vox
Continental Baroque . [ but I definately can't afford it ].
TWO manual , one like a Vox Continental , other one has voices that can
be sustained [ Harpsichord , Celeste ? ].
you can get different waveforms from the dividers by filtering [ filters
can be simple as they only have one frequency fed into them] or by
adding different frequency square waves .
if you get a square wave that has about 25 % pulse width that generates
a piano like sound ,so this is how some f the early electronic piano's
work
Crumar and Roland ep20 for example .
sorry that's enough of topic talk ........
normal service will be resumed as soon as possible ......
regards Peter
