BTW, one of the interesting things C.L. Stong did in the "Amateur
Scientist" column we discussed recently was to build a mechanical analog
computer that plotted the results on paper (sort of like a spirograph on
steroids). Man, was that cool. Pretty much required a machine shop to
build, though.

I suppose next someone could build a mechanical analog synth (I picture the
front panel work of the Bergfotron on steroids) that saves the results by
cutting grooves in a plastic disc like the RCA Mark II. Wouldn't even
require any tubes or BBD's to operate...
