It's not an instrument, we just sympathize with the analogue synths
and yes, we are mostly Swedish. We have one active guy from Norway and
a few more (from Norway and Denmark) lurking around I beleive.

We have succseeded in making 5 albums of music, taking up the volume
of 8 CDs. A 6th concept album is in the cooking and we can even see
beyond that and a 7th album (back to normal contributions) is
eventually going to come into existence.

It is interesting how these mini-series of CDs helps to make people
put some extra effort in making better music. The general tendensy is
that the albums gets better and better. It is basically an opertunity
for feedback. Lovely.

The SAS list has two major groupings of people that often meet, one in
Gothenburg and one here in Stockholm. A third grouping of people is
trying to form down in Skåne, and I wish them good luck in doing that.

When Bob Moog was over in Sweden for the Polar Music Award, I took
the initiative to basically buy him dinner... we actually threw a
minor party with live music and gave him our own medal and
diploma. You can check out our party at:

PS. Do listen to SHotQ! I love them. While their studio stuff indeed
sounds better, I can't say that their live performance was bad, just
different and with a tad of misstakes.

It is noteworthy that this event (including the actual Polar Music
Award cermony two days earlier) was one of the rare occasions I would
wear a tie.

Among the DIY people which you might know you should find me, Jörgen
Bergfors (the official photographer of the event), Patrick "Rotwang
the Mad Inventor/Polarn-P" Eriksson (who helped out with dinner
arrangements, created the medal and diploma - wounderfull job by the
way!), Per Mattson and a person who recently joined the list, Thomas
Kahn.

Indeed. Now, we have the VCO card done (actually, a rerun of the PCBs
is allready under discussion), we are just finishing off the first
round of PSUs and I guess the VCA is the next. We will create the next
onces as we get there.

If you *really* pleade, we could toss in some text in some foreign
languague, like Danish! ;O)

Other than that, it is all done in true DIY spirit and I am pleased to
learn just how many people out there who is building these VCOs.
SAS was in the early days very DIY heavy, and many of those people are
still around more or less. It is interesting to see that people
outside of the normal DIY core (like Thomas) is getting through their
theething period with such a project. It is truely inspiring to see.

As SAS now has come of some age for a email list (it turns 5 years in
about a month) it has grown to be a very nice community and is one of
the best email lists I've ever experienced. Synth-DIY has also grown
to be one of my favorite, as long as people stay out of throwing shit
at each other. I think SAS and Synth-DIY has many aspects in common,
well except for the obvious distinction in Languague. Naturally, if
you read and possibly write Swedish (Danish or Norweigan is naturally
OK, due to the relatively close ties between the languagues) you are
wellcome to join in! ;O)

Cheers,
Magnus
