[sdiy] Phonetic Speech generation

I have an echo 2 pc and 2 crickets(Mac) available as well as a longcard
dectalk. I probably have some others (get in touch) all of these devices
are digital and you can get really good results with simple programming
strings. The early phoneme chips are useless until assembled into a
synth configuration and without code . The most common and useful ones
are access devices for the Blind. At the moment SSIL device drivers are
popular so hardware synths are available cheap, but , the cheaper the
crappier. I use an outboard Dectalk DTC01 and a program called vocal
eyes and a dec utitily in a dos window. Cheap and efective Pink Floyd
and Radiohead used this device with the default voice( Perfect Paul)

What you are looking for is the tables with the command strings for the
synths.which are chip sets with a preamp really. the tables are pretty
easily available on the net from blind users depending on the device.

I work around this stuff all day so contact me for coherent info (unlike
this screed)
