[sdiy] ever tryed to fix an EPS16+ (w) a broken floppy??

has any one here ever tryed to fix an ensoniq EPS16+
(sampling workstation/synth)???   mine has a broken
floppy disk drive so I cant even used the thing. It
does however have the SCSI upgrade and flashbank.   I
am told that I can use a mac zip drive (which Iomega
no longer makes) with the SCSI.  so I hunt down a used
one and buy it. I finaly get it and it still doesnt
work. so I then find out that I have to do a term
power modification with a shotkey diode (thanks for
telling me the model#). so that the drive will work.
well guess what, it still doesnt work. "Format SCSI
drive", is missing from the list.     do you guys
think its a software problem? do you think I should
somehow try to reload the OS?  or does someone know
how I can get this thing finaly working.
