Almost forgot to mention my most interesting "bench"..usually serves as more
of a computer table for my commodore amiga, but sometimes repairs get done on
it, too. It's an old desk made by DEC, with one of the supports designed to
put a MicroVAX or MicroPDP-11 inside. Made very sturdily, and completely
modular for quick disassembly and reassembly (I had to dismantle it to get it
into my room), with holes built into the top for routing cables and stowing
the excess in the back with the built in power strip. It also has a built in
monitor holder (designed to hold a VT-220) that goes up and down on a motor
drive with the push of a button. The space for the VAX/PDP is going end up
holding a redunant RAID box hooked to a sampler eventually.
