I have been doing a little bit of soldering here and there since
1965 <twitch>, and it doesn't <twitch> seem to have cause me any real
<twitch> major problems <twitch-twitch>.
Seriously, there are two main hazards here, and, to tell you the
truth, I don't know really how severe they are. Rosin Flux fumes, I
would say, are not at all good for any part of your resperation. I had
a friend when I was in Junior High school that would breath in the
smoke, and make smoke rings (ahhh kids, eh!). The other hazard is
lead. I would imagine that there is lead vapor in the flux smoke, which
is also not particuarly good for you. I would say it can't hurt to take
precautions. I probably should be taking more than I am.
