[sdiy] parts in Seattle

I was at Boeing Surplus two weeks ago. They have really restricted their
parts - they used to have an excellent wire section ( all sorts of nice
high-quality shielded cable for $1 / pound ) and an awesome sheet and angle
metal section and really good deals on test equipment and components.

Now, the wire section just seems to sell welding wire and fibre optic cable,
the metal, test equipment and components are pretty dried up.

The good news is that they are excellent for computers - they have lots of
P-133 class machines for dirt cheap pricing ( $50-$100 ), their tool
selection is as good as it always was ( good for drill bits ( they have the
small carbide bits you need for PC board drilling ) - most of the other
stuff is for *big* machines ). They also have some machine tools (
bandsaws, milling machines, etc... ) for sale but these are big 208 3-phase
puppies - not suitable for the home shop. It is also occasionally good for
furniture.

United Products is long gone - they operated up in Lynwood ( 10 miles to the
north ) for a while, even had a web page, but disappeared after a year or
so.
