This is true, I got a Philbrick guide to op amps the other day..
written by Bob Pease!. these were the transistor ones, though.
A good thing to find in a secondhand bookshop in Melbourne 
Australia :D

BTW a CURRENT book I found there was "Electronic Circuits, Systems
& Standards" ed Ian Hickman (Butterworth Heinemann) which is a 
collection of stuff from EDN magazine. Worth having, particularly for
the idea of extending the frq range of a 4046 oscillator by making 
a nonlinear load from a 2N3904. (p 139-140) 2kHz to 2 MHz
