You know, I've been meaning to ask you guys about this. I'm in the video
game industry and I was reading a fantastic book about the early days of
video games called First Quarter. I was particularly interested in the story
of Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari. It said Mr. Bushnell spent much of
the late 70s constantly cranking out new arcade games because the
electronics patent process was so slow that Asian companies would steal the
circuits and already have a production line set up before the patent was
granted. Is this still the case? Is it terribly difficult to copyright a
circuit design to protect your creation from copying and have legal
consequences applied to the thief? THanks for the info, this has been
bugging me for some time now.

Your pal,
Jon Darby
