It's bad enough when co-incedences produce similar work, without deliberate
copying.

There is a circuit similar to the first stages of my Psycho LFO on one site
that lists a few "pseudo random" LFOs. I forget the URL. As the owner of
that page says, it's an old engineer's trick. Too true. Mine was based on a
model railway flourescent light simulator I designed and published back in
1984. In fact my prototype Psycho LFO was built using the fluoro PCB. I've
also used the same core for the arc-welder simulator that is also displayed
on my site. In fact, I based the Psycho LFO pcb on that of the arc-welder,
as the circuits were so similar.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I have had numerous designs of mine
ripped off and published by a "major" electronic magazine out here. The
entire front end of my radio controlled car throttle was stolen by the
aforementioned magazine's so called RC expert. There can be no doubt as to
the copying either, as my circuit was the first one ever to use that
particular approach with discrete components. I've also seen a single board
computer developed by a friend and myself, along with its peripherals also
appear in the same mag. So did half of the model railway circuits for that
matter. I've even had one entire article ripped off word for word and
published in another railway mag, though in that case at least, they left my
name on the article, as well as the relevant ordering info. It would have
been nice if they'd asked though!

My next problem is to work out what the other model railway circuits from my
book can be adapted to synthesis, though somehow I don't see there being
much use for a throttle or capacitor discharge unit in electronic music :)
There is however a bell sound generator that is very different from the
usual ringing twin-t oscillator...
