You could try putting your rectifiers and caps in the separate box, and
then feeding the smoothed but not regulated DC to your synth rack.
OR:
Put the whole power supply into the separate box, and take the voltage
sense inputs in your 723 circuit to the synth rack separately. You'll
need another couple of wires, but they needn't be big chunky ones.
I would stear clear of sending low voltage AC anywhere because of the
current spikes during cap charge up. Twisted wires are the best for this
application if you are going to do this.
