Several ways to break banana sockets:

1. Stack stackable plugs too high.  Lots of leverage.
     (Multiples _are_ useful in banana synths)

2.  Use old banana sockets.  Plastic in some goes brittle.

3.  Use cheap nasty banana sockets.

4.  Unsupported - if the back of the banana socket is attached
     directly to a circuit board (Syntom 3000 for example) it'll be
     a lot more robust - but a pig to repair.
