[sdiy] banana vs. mini

My modular uses banana jacks. I have gone that
way because i was used to them from other devices
(e.g. power supplies, some mesauring equipment)
so i thought this would be an useful standard to adopt.

My system is now about 2 years old, and has only
occasionally been used by me and some friends, but i
have had to replace several of the 4mm sockets because
they have gone bad (broken plastic).

So now i wish i had used the 6.3mm jacks. OK, they take up
more space and you cannot stack them, and the cables
are more expensive. But i think they last a lot longer, and they
are less likely to pop put. Also i do like the "snapping" feeling
twhen the plug is inserted.
