[sdiy] 4 meg eproms and obsolesence

    Yep, Eproms are in general are becoming obsolete.  TI in particular,
seems to have stopped making all eproms.  Evidently, they no longer
consider this to be a viable enterprise.  Where I work, we had to switch
from TI to AMD about a year ago.  Eproms, in general seem to be getting
more difficult to find (although, they can still be found fairly easily.
Jameco has a good selection, although, some of the ones I have gotten
from them lately have been of dubious quality).

    The reason for this is FLASH memory seems to be what is being
pushed.  Flash is prefered probably because it is easier to test.
