[sdiy] 4 meg eproms and obsolesence

Hi,
I just went to download the data sheet for a 27c040 eprom ,and found
that it was described as obsolete ......
from the texas instrumets site .   http://www.ti.com/
I'm considering using these eproms for a sample based project and I'm
supprised that a modern eprom as this is now described as obsolete .
any suggestions ? 
am I worrying unnecesarilly ?
