[sdiy] making banana cables.

HI everyone, I want to make some banana cables for my slowly forming SBM, and 
I remember something about using some thick cable, can someone tell me what 
cable to use? I am going to use the $0.39 Johnson banana plugs in both 
digikey and mouser catalogs.
