[sdiy] Possibly OT Tube Amplifier Question

Does it count as "on topic" if I want to use the amp
with a synth? <grin>.

Anyway, it's an Ampeg J12R Reverbojet. It's output stage
is bad (uh, sockets are partially melted). I've thought
about rebuilding it using matched 6L6 tubes (I have them),
but I've been told that it may require resistor changes.
I have the schematic, but I honestly don't know enough
about tubes to re-engineer the circuit. The original
output tubes are 7591. Both the 7591 and 6L6 are tetrode
power types, the 6L6 being a little less powerful. I chose
6L6 because I couldn't (at that time) find any type 7591.
Perhaps I don't know where to look for replacement tubes.
I wouldn't mind just putting it back to normal.
