This is common on Roland Schematics. What you have is 2 circuit boards that
are connected together with ribbon cable(s). The dotted lines indicate the
boundary between board A and B. The numbers indicate which pin# on the
ribbon cable it is.

If you are building your own from scratch, you will probably panel mount
your pots and solder them directly to the main circuit board, so for your
purposes, you can safely ignore the dotted lines and numbers.
