[sdiy] Suboctave using 4013; triggering problem

There was a thread a while back about sine wave suboctaves. I'm
attempting to build one, and I'm having real trouble with intermittent
triggering of my 4013 D flip-flop. Right now I'm just breadboarding.
I've got an LM311 output (4.7K to +5v) driving the clock input, and the
R and S inputs grounded. Originally I just had the Qbar output tied
directly to the D input, but also tried an RC filter (2.2K and 220pF).
I'm still getting intermittent triggering.
Any suggestions?
