Hi Ben,

That circuit comes from a strange little book called "Electronic Music and Creative Tape
Recording" by M.K.Berry from Babani Publishing. Mine is dated 1979, so I do not know if it
is still available.  Judging from the yellowing pages I must have got mine quite a while
back. There is a brief description of the circuit operation in there. I'll send you a copy
of the text.
