Well, you know what they say about opinions, everyone has one. So, I will
offer a different one. I too purchased a Theremax. Once assembled mine
worked very well. It was a slight bit "drifty." The pitch side worked just
as advertised. One the volume side, I got it working perfectly when tuned
in the "non-traditional method." I could never get exactly the response I
wanted from the traditional tuning where hand on antenna = quiet. That was
my only complaint. Therefore, for a traditional Thereminist, I could not
recommend. But, for someone wanting a couple of CVs to integrate into a
modular, I think it works super for less than $100. But for a traditional
Theremin, the performance is not up to par with the Etherwave (which is of
course considerably more expensive and does not normally have CV outs).
And, I do someone else that has a similar story to Tom's.
