    Well, if you had eyes like mine, through hole makes a lot of sense.
It is all I can do to solder through hole stuff, plus, building bread
boards with through hole stuff is a lot easier.  The stuff I do at work
is all pretty much surface mount now, but my home stuff will probably
stay through hole.
