[sdiy] THeremin

There's a good Web page run by a guy name Art that has a small archive of
interesting Theremin schematics and a simple theremin using two Hex Inverter
ICs for the oscillators. Look on Yahoo for <art theremin> and it will come
right up. (I'm at work with the no-fun zone proxy server up, sorry I
couldn't grab the address for you). The name of this theremin is the
"Minimum Theremin" and it consists of only the pitch antenna, which is all
the most people are after anyway it seems. SOme fruitcake is selling a clone
of this schematic on Ebay for $150+ a pop and constantly has 3-4 on at a
time. This guy Art is kinda protective about selling his design, but it will
give you enough insight into how a Theremin works (very simple) to make your
own design with the oscillators of your choice. I built up the Minimum
Theremin in an afternoon and it worked the first time. Also check out the
Wein Bridge Theremin on his page, very interesting. Good luck!

Your pal,
Jon Darby
