Hi all..just wanted to update those interested in these bargain components from crowthornetubes in the UK.. My order arrive today. The pots I got are really high quality items. The bourns 1k pots (pity they only do 1k ) look like conductive plastic type with chrome plated spindle/mount etc. (I think the guy says he has thousands of these in stock!) Also the bourns multiturn (30k only) are like the 35xx series .Also I got some spectrol multiturns. They are quite old type..long metal barrel enclosure kind, Very high quality ..but only in 100ohm values (Doh....)
Also got some nice analogue meters and blue+red MES panels lamps.
This guy is practically giving the stuff away..

cheers steve

  Subject: [sdiy] bargain components (UK)

Hi everyone...just thought I would advertise a company who are selling new old-stock
  components at bargain prices:-

  http://www.crowthornetubes.co.uk

(for pics of some items check the pages http://www.bel-tubes.co.uk )

Items include knobs, mes/les lamps, switches, pots (including spectrol/bourns), connectors, analogue meters etc that might be of interest to synth-diy people. The stuff is ex Ministry of Defence ..some going back decades! Anyway I have ordered some items myself..haven't received them yet so I cant say what they are like at present. But the guy who runs the company says he has to get rid of all the component stuff this month..so he is open to offers. If you buy in quantity from him ..you can get massive reductions (60%) on the prices listed on the above pages.

  cheers steve

ps I have no connection with this company!
