Thanks all for the good suggestions, and words of encouragement   I have
several things to check into now, as well as some pointers to new supply
sources  :)  Thanks!

Not wanting to linger in frustration I took another step into DIY-dom last
night.  I added 2 sets of 4-way multiple jacks to the front panel of my paia
midi2cv.  Not the most challenging project in the world, but it was the first
time I've modified a piece of "store bought" equipment (even if it was a kit!)
Drilling into the front panel was both scary and liberating.  I'm very pleased
with the results - looks good, works great!  Now all I need is a bit of grey
paint in the right shade for touch-up! <g>   BTW, if anyone has tips on how to
adjust a slightly-out-of-true drillpress, please mail me off-list  :)
