I don't like to order a part if it is on back order.  I buy from Mouser,
Allied, Newark and Digikey mostly.  All have on-line ordering and you can
see if the part is in stock before you place your order.  If one does not
have what I want, I look to the others.  Usually, I can find what I want in
stock.  However, I find that Mouser can usually tell you what the expected
arrival time is of most backordered parts.
