OK here's my two cents...

If a manufacturer gives you a schematic in confidence... you should not break
trust and put it on the web / website.

If they force you to reverse engineer the thing... then that is your work, fair
game.
I'd out them if they refused to provide a schematic...

We DO have an issue of other maunfacturers taking things from websites and
turning them into commercial products.
