Time for new uP

What have people been using for a development system? I got the starter
kit, which generously included a download cable and app, but the cheapest C
compiler for it seems to be the Codecraft, for another $90US. One thing
going for the 68HC11 was the in-ROM Forth from New Micros, complete with an
interactive assembler. Once I get the Codecraft I'll just compile pForth
(www.softsynth.com) and be off and running.

Here's a good link on AVR info, from Dontronics.
