Um, I don't think so. On a digital synth you wouldn't have to use
something like SPDIF or even multipin connectors for patch cords. You
could virtualize the patching by using a scanning scheme like the one for
panel buttons and keyboards.
Unbless you want to be able to patch in analog signals, that is... :-)
