I discovered this by accident with my light controller. I totally 
forgot about it swinging to -15V, I was thinking ground for some 
stupid reason. I also discovered that 2N2222's switch ON when you hit 
the base with -15V (avalanche?)--but not 2N3904's. Next time I'll 
clamp it with a diode the way I should have...
