  After a one hour warm-up, I was able to attain a 41-second beat period,
this period held more or less for each octave.  I had to fool the key
assigner a bit such that the same VCO pair was sounding the notes: I
noticed that some of the VCO pairs are very slightly out of alignment and
the apparent detune rate was different as a result.  Five of the pairs
seemed to be good for 30 second periods or better.  I'll have to adjust
the other three pairs.
