You are probably better off purchasing an old keyboard (organ, old DIGITAL
(not analog) synth, etc), yanking the keyboard out, and starting there. The
first keyboard I ever built, I used the keyboard out of an old Wurlitzer Combo
organ (the thing was a basket case, but the keyboard was still in perfect
condition).
I would also bet that there must be some place where you can get un-used
keyboards. I would check with some of the places that sell parts for old
consol organs.
