Front panel material

Yes sure.
Anodizing is not a method for printing front panels at all.
It is just a surface treatment.

I've used a printing method that is sometimes referred as anodizing.
However the material is pre-anodized in the factory.
The ink is then applied using a photo active mask,
the next step is to cook the front panels in water for sealing.
The result is that the lettering sits "inside" the material.
Looks wwery nice!

This is an rather expensive method, and the base material is not easily
available.
The prepainted photo active front panels I referred to are better available,
less hassle and cheaper.

Maybe I should have written:"can be done" instead of "is done"
I'll keep that in mind for next time.
