The Forrest Mims Engineer's notebook has been re-released.
I saw a copy at Barns and Noble yesterday. This is an absolutely
killer reference. Way back when (78-80) Forrest did a series
of these "engineer notebooks" for Radio Shack. I guess they still
sell those "mini-books" but they are not like this one.
It's a strange combination of chips hopping all over the 74XX ,
40XX and linear series taking an ic and showing several applications
for it. The reason it's so disjointed is that it's the Radio Shack
product line from the time. The price is $18.99 ....Wow! it was
$3.95 the first time out.
This is the "Yellow" cover version. I thought they might include
the "Blue" cover parts but I didn't see them. Oh... another thing
the grid is gone. That's one of the things that made them so cool!
Never the less...It's still a very good book.
You can also get it from radioshack.com RSU 12044228
