Hi List,
Sorry to Tom - I might have lost your email... DSL was down for a week or
two last month....
Here's the info for the ASM-1:
The price is $60 US each, or $50 US each when you order four or more with
the same payment.
What you get is a circuit board, plus documentation with a parts list,
circuit description, and building hints.
The circuit board is professional quality - double-sided, soldermasked,
silkscreened, and drilled with plated-through holes. No components are
installed or provided. It is up to the builder to provide all circuit
components, power supply, enclosure, and front panel. All components should
be fairly easy to purchase in local stores or via mail-order.
The analog synthesizer circuits on the ASM-1 are as follows:
(2) VCO's - Saw/Pulse w/ PWM and hard sync, 1v/oct, tempco-type expo
converters
(1) VCF - exponential state variable with lowpass, bandpass, highpass, and
notch w/ resonance
(2) ADSR envelope generators
(2) VCA's - linear response, 3080-based, w/ inverting and non-inverting
inputs
(1) LFO - triangle/square
(1) Noise Generator - transistor-based with White, Pink, and Random outputs
(1) Glide buffer for portamento
The VCO's use the CA3140/LM311/FET design, which is the best that I've ever
come across in terms of frequency range and stability (with the right tempco
resistor, of course).
To order, send cash or a cheque cashable in a US bank to:
Gene Stopp
PO Box 4246
West Hills, CA
91308
USA
Shipping costs are included in the price, for either domestic or
international orders.
I visit my PO box every Saturday and ship out all orders by the next
Saturday. Domestic orders ship out first class (2-3 day delivery).
International orders ship out via air mail, which takes about a week.
Best Regards,
- Gene
