VCO linearity question

I'm thinking that (generally) a triangle VCO will be
more linear by making the comparator high impedance and the
integrating cap should be small? The small cap will make
the frequency higher so smaller CV (hence smaller current in
the CCO core) to compensate would be necessary. Is "cut and
try" the best method for determining the optimum cap value?
I am assuming there is a limit to how small it can go with
a given design.
BTW, I'm heading out to a HUGE electronic salvage/surplus
yard today to scavange for AD654 or LM566 (NE too). Can't
seem to find anyone that still stocks either of these.
Yes, I've tried partminer (which is now www.freetradezone.com)
many many times with only 'out of stock' hits.
Wish me luck.
