    Not familiar with the atmel FPGA's.  Just out of curiosity, what size of
distributed sram do they have? Are the blocks small (like 16x2,32x1, etc) or
large (256x8, 512x8, etc)?

    The other thing I am curious about, how much does the developement system
cost?  Xilinx used to be an option until recently (price went from $95 to $1100,
yeah I know the price in digikey says $95, but the web site says $1100).  Altera
will let you down load a base line system that is pretty nice for free.
