I first got into Gleeson from his work with Herbie Hancock (the album
"Sextant" from 1973 remains a total fave). He and winds-player Bennie
Maupin did a CD called "Driving While Black" on a French label in 1997 that
is very nice, fusion with a lot of very nice electronics, though mostly
digital. Hard to find, but worth tracking down IMHO. He's still doing
music, based in San Francisco. He occasionally posts to the Opcode-users
group.
