I don't know how it works, but I heard one once at a 
hifi store. They played a Barbara Streisand track, 
of all things. Kind of spooky. I definitely heard 
instruments back behind the speakers and farther 
out to the sides than the speakers were. You 
have to have your head in a pretty small sweet 
spot for it to work.

I don't think that helps much.
