DIY PCB plated thru holes?

    You bring up another good point as to why it is probably best to
send boards that need plated holes to a pro.  Drilling is the first
thing you do.  The pro's use NC drilling equipment.  My freind had a
fancy drill.  I am not sure how it worked, but he would first use a
microscope on the machine to locate each hole.  The machine would punch
a tape, then the machine was set up with a drill and then the machine
would drill the boards.  Not exactly the kind of thing a DIYer would
probably have in his garage.  Anyway, with this machine, boards could be
drilled without having to print anything on them.
