Thomas Henry Tunable Noise Source Question

This design is intended for an expo system, but I use
linear (FatMan).  It's obvious that if I simply mix
the diode noise with a linear CV that the effect will
be greater on lower notes than higher ones since the
noise will be a lower proportion of the CV signal as
the pitch CV rises.  My first idea is to use an OTA as a 
VCA to control the amplitude of the noise being mixed.
I think this will work, but is there some simpler way
that I'm missing?
