Hi Tom and all,

>They won't stand up to modular use and they don't just die they usually
flake first...

This is true, what I have found is that you sometimes lose voltage
control on one of the ADSR phases first. But the dodgy one I have right
now, actually re-triggers itself when the gate is high. Interesting
effect if it wasn't so random.

Yes, Juergen's core is truly amazing. I have built one of these, a
little after it was published. It works very well... but there are lots
of trimmers in there which means it can take some room up on a PCB.
Maybe I can work something out to get rid of some of those, but I think
many will have to stay if you are going to use this thing in a
polysynth. I know Jorgen redid the circuit for his cute little
Bergfortron with a few less trimmers.

I will be again looking at JH's little circuit again very soon, when I
start to lay out some new voice cards for my aging DIY polysynth. At the
moment it consists of two 3340, a SVF, and two 3310s. (basically the Tim
Orr designed Powertran Polysynth). It sounds great, but like my aging
monosynth, it really needs a bit of a shake up. If I do a discrete
version, I'll probably sell a few PCBs on my site to cover some of the
costs and buy Juergen a few beers :-)... that is if anyone is
interested.
