Hey Tony, I gotta tell ya that I hate the 3310. Not because
it's not a good VC-ADSR when it works it's wonderful. I
started my DIY efforts about what??? 3 years ago now,
with 6 3310s I now have 2. They won't stand up to modular
use and they don't just die they usually flake first....anyway
if you plan on using them modular you need to take extra
special care and put huge walls around everything and
when you consider all those extra opamps for each input
and opamps for current drivers there goes your small
footprint. They aren't so bad about self destruction inside
something where you can't get to it. I'm sure your mono will
be a happy home.....but I would use something else and do
these days...guess that's why I have 2 left....;-) One more
thing do not put these things in sockets. Chip creep can
kill them. Solder directly to the board and say incantations
over it......nom yo ho ren gay ko......nom yo ho ren gay ko
Juergen published the core a while back. Thank you VERY
much Mr Haible. I know it's a pain to cobble all that stuff
together but in the long run it's not going to fail. When you
think about it not that much more real estate. I recommend
that anybody that owns a synth that has 3310s in it buy those
3310s for spares.
The 3310 is not the only one. The 3360 is actually worse
about going headlong into the toilet. Makes me wonder if
they use the same scheme? Probably. Harry can add these
2 to the list.
I'm not out to hurt or piss anybody off, or anything! This
is my personal experience with them and my personal
opinion.Your mileage may vary.
