Yes. Replace it with whatever you have got.. I would say that if you can
get the NEW multiwire that uses some sort of tough plastic and solid
conductors, get that.. They have it if you look around.. As for myself, I
just used thick gauge ribbon cable. With ribbon cable, though, you have to
skip every other conductor because of spacing issues, but it definetely
works. 

You can use normal wire, but its a bit cumbersome in tight spots in the
case and doesnt have the clearance needed.
